Here’s the recipe for stone #1 from this post.
I used fingering/4-ply wool and 2.25mm / B hook. The stone was an oval approximately 6×8 cm ( 2.4 x 3.1 in)
This “jacket” is made of two motives, second joined as-you-go to the first one.
I like my “jackets” to fit really tightly over the stones. I put my work against the stone very often to make sure it’s coming out the right size.
Round1. Start using magic loop: ch3, 15 dc.
Round 2 – ch1, *sc in next dc, ch 9, sc in 2nd ch from the hook, sc in the next ch, continue working down along ch9- 2 hdc, 3 dc (1 ch left), sk next last ch and next dc*. Finish the round with sl st in ch1. Bind off. Weave in ends.
Round1 – as side 1. Weave in the end that’s left from starting the magic loop. Do not forget to weave in all free ends before starting to join two sides together. In round 2 you will be joining the points of the stars together. For the first couple of points, hold side 1 with right side up opposite side two. As you progress, it will be easier to fold them with wrong sides facing. Work round 2 as round 1, but after making ch1, do a slip stitch into the corresponding point of side 1, ch1, continue with sc into the 2nd ch back from the sl st. When about 2/3 of the round is finished, insert the stone in the opening and finish off with the stone inside. Weave in the last end.
