Here’s the recipe for stone #5 from this post.
I used fingering/4-ply wool and 2.5mm / B/C hook. The stone was 8 cm ( 3.1 in) in diameter
This “jacket” is made of two motives, second joined as-you-go to the first one.
I like my “jackets” to fit really tightly over the stones. I put my work against the stone very often to make sure it’s coming out the right size.
Side 1
Start with magic loop.
Round 1 – ch3, 15 dc. Finish the round with a sl st.
Round 2 – ch6, *sk 1 dc, sc, ch 4*.
Round 3 – ch7, *sk ch4 sp, sc, ch 5*.
Round 4 – ch8, *sk ch5 sp, sc, ch 6*.
Round 5 – ch9, *sk ch6, sc, ch 7*, ch 2, tr in the 2nd ch of the starting ch9.
Rround 6 – ch10, *sk next sc, sc in ch7-sp, ch 8*.
Round 7 – sl st in ch8 sp. *[dc, ch 1] 5 times in ch8-sp*.
Weave in the ends.
For side 2, in the last round, instead of ch1 between 1st and 2nd; and 4th and 5th dc join to corresponding ch1 of part 1.
Side 2
Side 2 is done exactly the same as side 1. Weave in the end from magic loop before starting round 7.
In round 7 you will be joining both sides together. Instead of ch1 between 1st and 2nd; and 4th and 5th dc in each section, join to corresponding ch1 of side 1.
