Here’s the recipe for stone #6 from this post.
I used fingering/4-ply wool and 2.5mm / B/C hook. The stone was 7 cm ( 2.75 in) in diameter
This “jacket”, unlike others is made in one piece, so two sides look slightly different.
I like my “jackets” to fit really tightly over the stones. I put my work against the stone very often to make sure it’s coming out the right size.
Start with magic loop.
Round 1 – *3dctog, ch5* x 6. Join the round with a sl st.
Round 2 – Sl in the 3dc tog, sl st in ch5-sp, ch3, 4 dc in the same ch5-sp, ch 2, *5 dc in ch5 sp, ch2*. Join the round with a sl st.
Round 3 – *5 dc in 5 dc, ch 5*. Ch3 instead of the 1st dc. Join the round with a sl st.
Round 4 – ch1, * sc in 1st dc, ch7, sc in 5th dc, ch 7*. Join the round with a sl st.
Round 5 – sl st in ch7 sp, *5 dc in ch7 sp, ch5, sk next ch7 sp *. Join the round with a sl st.
Round 6 – *5 dc in in 5 dc ch2*. Start the round with ch3 instead of dc. Join the round with a sl st.
Round 7 – ch1, *ch 5, sc in ch2 sp*. Weave in the end from the startting magic loop. Insert stone. Join the round with a sl st.
Round 8 – sl st in ch5-sp, 3 dc tog in each ch5 sp.
Finish off, weave in the end.
