Several years ago I published the pattern for Soft Stream Cowl. That pattern was knit sideways: a long stripe knit flat and then grafted using kitchener stitch to create a loop. This time I used the same chart for a narrower and longer tube kntted in the round from the start. This way the beatiful lace pattern is going up vertically rather than from side to side.
Materials
This time I have used a beautiful and amazingly soft 4-ply superwash merino (400m/100g) in indigo from Tart’s Art. This is an amazing yarn to work with, and to wear. I chose 3.25mm round needles. I strongly recommend round needles with a shorter cable. As decrease stitches travel across the pattern, knitting with magic loop or dpns can be quite fiddly. I used one whole 100 skein, but a longer tube would probably be nice, too.

Method
I cast on 160 stitches (20 pattern repeats). Knitted 4 rounds in garter stitch, then switched to the lace pattern and continued until I nearly ran out of yarn (11.5 vertical repeats), and then finished of with 4 rounds of garter stitch(starting with purl round) and bind off.
