And slippers for my boy.

I have already made two pairs of these slippers before. Now with the move they have seen the light again, and my son loved them – I suppose he especially enjoyed how slippery these can be on a tile floor –  so that he can pretend he’s skating at home. I have used SOS! Special Occasion Slippers  pattern as before, by my first effort was in size suitable maybe for a toddler, but definitely too small for a 6-year old whose foot is already almost as large as mine. Here are my notes. I used some worsted yarn, which was a pleasure to work with, I cannot wait to think of something else to use it with. It was kindly gifted to me by a girl whom I didn’t know, but we’ve since been for a coffee or two and knitted together and had a lovely chat :) Power of yarn and facebook, helping strangers meet in a foreign country….

Here are my tweaks (in case I need to make another pair)

Cast on 36.
32 rows garter stitch
Join in round. Finish 3/4 of the round. Start new round at the side

K6, k2tog, yo, k 2, yo, skp, knit until the end of the round
Next and all alternative rounds knit
K5, k2tog, yo, k4, skp, knit until the end of the round
K4, k2tog,yo, k6, skp, knit until the end of the round
K3, k2tog, yo, k2, k2tog, yo yo, skp, k2 yo, skp, knit until the end of the round
K2, k2tog, yo, k2 k2tog yo, k2, yo, skp, k2, yo, skp, knit until the end of the round
K1, k2tog, yo, k3, skp, yo, k2 yo, k2 tog, k3, yo, skp, knit until the end of the round
K6, yo, skp, k2, k2tog, yo , knit until the end of the round
K1, skp, k4, yo, skp, k2tog, yo, k4, k2tog, k2, skp, k to last 3 sts, k2 tog, k1 knit until the end of the round

Continue decreasing as per original pattern and graft.
